Your horse may need a massage IF.....
Sooooo.... How do you know if your horse could use a massage therapy session? Here are some common indicators:
Massage is extremely beneficial not only to the horse's muscles and body systems, but also their mental relaxation. That being said, massage does NOT replace a vet! Here are some signs that you should call the vet, not your equine masseuse:
- Stiffness: loss of freedom of motion
- Unhappy while working
- Sore back
- Change in attitude
- Unwilling to bend
- Obvious discomfort in motion
- Horse is vaguely "off"
